Q104 BIG SUMMER BASH - A RECORD-BREAKING SUMMER!
Q104 and Tourism Kenora invite you to be a part of a record-breaking summer!
On Saturday, July 27, 2019 on the Kenora Harbourfront we’re gathering 2,000 people to break a World Record - the largest gathering of people wearing plaid!
At noon, we will come together to celebrate the very fabric of our community – the Kenora Dinner Jacket and claim a world record, which is rightfully ours! (Kenora Dinner Jacket not required - any plaid will do!)
Bring your friends and family down to the Harbourfront for an afternoon of live entertainment, kids games, food trucks and prizes! The Lake of the Woods Hospital Foundation will also be on-site where you could win big with their 50/50 draw!
Wearing plaid in Northwestern Ontario is natural, so let’s claim our rightful place at the top of the world stage this summer!
Make It, Bake It, Grow It!
The Matiowski Farmers’ Market has steadily grown in size and popularity since its inception in 2005; it is now one of the largest markets in Northwestern Ontario. Every Wednesday from mid June to early October, the Whitecap Pavilion plays host to just over 100 Market Vendors selling authentic handmade and homegrown products.
At the Market, you will find a variety of farm fresh meats, locally grown fresh produce, and delicious baked goods, dips and spreads. As well, local artwork, jewellery, and textiles all created by area artisans. In fact, offerings at Matiowski Farmers’ Market change week to week and are always a pleasant surprise. Support and grow our local economy by shopping here.
Parking
The City of Kenora offers various parking options in the downtown core. Please ensure to follow parking signage at all times and especially during busy Market Days.
FREE Shuttle Service
FREE shuttle service to the Matiowski Farmers’ Market takes market shoppers to the Whitecap Pavilion from the Kenora Recreation Centre. The shuttle service starts the first week of July between 8: 30 am until 3:00 pm, every 15 minutes on Market days. Those wanting to take advantage of the shuttle may park in Lot 3 or Lot 4 at the Kenora Recreation Centre at no charge, and then gather at the loading zone by the tennis courts. The service was first provided in 2017 for a three week trial period. It was very well utilized during the trial period and will continue to be offered on Wednesdays in July and August.
